Beam Central Vacuums – Review of Different Types

Beam central vacuum systems are some of the best on the market, and are made in the USA. There steel outer body resists corrosion, and they use a lot of high quality internal components rather than cheap rip off Chinese made products. If you are thinking about purchasing a beam central vacuum, you should be aware of all the different models. This will help you make the right decision when choosing the perfect unit for your home.

There are three different series of beam vacuums:

Beam Classic – The beam classic is more of a commercial grade unit. It is very basic and does not have some of the upgraded features you will find on the beam serenity and serenity IQS series. These machines are designed to be used in areas ranging anywhere from 2000-12,000 sq. ft. The Beam 225c is the smallest of these units, and is used in small commercial properties. The largest of the units is the beam 295c. It is designed to handle up to 12,000 sq. ft. and is perfect for warehouse and commercial property application. All of these units come with a central vacuum inlet valve on the front of the machine. This enables the user to connect a central vacuum hose to maximize use of the machine in the garage or crawlspace where it is mounted.

Beam Serenity – The beam serenity central vacuum series was designed for residential rather than commercial use. These systems utilize a muffler and  sound barrier material within the motor compartment to keep the unit quiet at all times. The noise from a central is reduced by up to 50 percent when you use this series. These systems are also able to notify you when there is something wrong with the machine, and have a safety reset switch if the motor over heats. They are capable of handling 1500-15,000 sq. ft. total depending on the model you choose. The beam 375c and beam 395c are the most popular, as they can cover most of the homes that want central vacuum systems installed. If you have a much larger home, you may want to choose the beam 3500c. This unit covers up to 15,000 sq. ft. and is the most powerful residential model available. The beam serenity series utilizes a goretex filter to keep the dirt and dust from entering the motor chamber. This prolongs the life of the unit overall.

Beam Serenity IQS – The beam serenity IQS series is designed to give the homeowner complete information about the system and its efficiency. It has an onboard computer and LCD display showing up to date statistics about the cleaning power and overall suction. Other than the inclusion of the onboard computer, the beam serenity IQS is the same as the serenity series.

Overall, most homeowners go with the serenity series. The commercial units tend to be too loud for the home, and the muffler and quiet insulation on the serenity tends to dampen it to an acceptable noise level. All of these units come with excellent warranties on the central vacuum parts inside and outside of the machine. The power unit body is guaranteed for life, and the motor and PC board are covered for an ample amount of time.

Thanks for reading, and happy cleaning!

How long is the hose? Does it come with a direct outlet for the kitchen? How much weight does the computer screen add to the handle?
